The East Coast route from New York to Florida

Most carriers leave the New York area on I-95 and run south through New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, the Carolinas and Georgia before entering Florida at Jacksonville. From there the route continues down the Atlantic coast or cuts inland toward Orlando and Tampa.

Pickups in Manhattan, Brooklyn and other dense neighborhoods can be tricky for a full-size car carrier. When the truck cannot reach the curb, the driver will suggest a nearby spot with more room, such as a large parking lot.

Upstate pickups add miles to the trip but usually offer easier access, since the streets and lots are wider.

Snowbird season and other timing factors

Demand peaks in the fall, when seasonal residents send their cars south before winter, and again in the spring when the same cars head back north. Booking a few weeks ahead during those months gives you the best choice of dates.

Winter storms in the Northeast can delay pickups, and Atlantic hurricane season can affect Florida deliveries from June through November.

If your dates are flexible, mention it in your quote request. We will confirm the expected window when you book and let you know if weather changes anything.

Preparing your car before the truck arrives

    • Wash the car so the condition report reflects its real state.
    • Run the fuel down to about a quarter tank.
    • Remove your E-ZPass tag and any personal belongings.
    • Take clear, dated photos of each side, the roof and the bumpers.
    • Disable or tell us about any alarm system.
    • Leave a set of working keys and name someone who can meet the driver in Florida.

Open or enclosed for the East Coast run

    Open carrier

The everyday choice. Your car travels on an open trailer alongside other vehicles, which keeps the cost lower for most cars, SUVs and pickups.

    Enclosed carrier

A covered trailer that keeps out rain, road salt and debris on the long trip south. A good choice for classic, luxury or high-value vehicles.

    Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to ship a car from New York to Florida?

It depends on the pickup and delivery cities, the carrier route and the weather. Jacksonville is a much shorter run than Miami or the Keys. We confirm the expected window when you book.

Can you pick up in Manhattan or Brooklyn?

Yes. If the carrier cannot safely get onto your street, the driver will arrange a nearby meeting point with enough room to load.

How much does it cost to ship a car from New York to Florida?

The price depends on the vehicle, the exact locations, open or enclosed transport, the season and your dates. Request a quote with your details and we will send you a price.

Do you ship from Florida back to New York?

Yes. We run the route in both directions, and spring is a popular time for northbound shipments.

When should I book for snowbird season?

A few weeks before your preferred pickup date. Fall southbound and spring northbound dates fill up first.

Should I choose open or enclosed transport?

Open transport suits most everyday vehicles. Enclosed transport adds protection from weather and road debris and is popular for classic and luxury cars.

Can I leave items in the car?

Keep personal items to a minimum and take out anything valuable. Ask us before pickup if you need an exception.

What if my car is not running?

Let us know in your quote request. A non-running vehicle needs special loading equipment, so we plan for it in advance.

What should I check at delivery?

Walk around the car with the driver and compare it with the condition report from pickup. Note any concerns on the paperwork before signing.
